Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter the city she grew up in after her birthplace. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's father was born into an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder is the youngest sister of Uria who is half-sister to Jubal & Sunyata. Ryder was born in the United States and moved with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. There they didn't have electricity. Ryder who was an avid reader aged 12, became a bookworm since Ryder had no access to television. Ryder, then 12, was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in the year 1983. She landed her debut role on the big screen in 1986 at the age of 15 young. Ryder suffered bullying in the high school. Her hope was that her career in acting would change that. Unfortunately, that did not occur. But that didn't stop her pursuing dreams. In 1988, the year that Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that gave her her first big break. Ryder was able to continue her successful parts in a variety of films. Two Academy Awards were nominated, one for The Age of Innocence (1996).
