April Ross
April Ross is only one of only a handful of beach volleyball players to have won medals at least twice in an Olympics. In Tokyo during the next few days she will attempt to win her third gold medal along with first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross aims to earn an Olympic debut gold however, she also hopes for greater. There is a chance that she has one chance at winning, as she's 39 old. However, she's confident that top honors are firmly in reach. If we play our highest or perform well, I think we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. In addition, I'll try the chance to have chance. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and her sister. She was able to participate in numerous sports at Newport Harbor High School. Along with indoor volleyball, she ran track and basketball as a pre-collegiate athlete. Although she was a pro at indoor volleyball, it was clear that her abilities were higher than average. During her high school career she played middle blocker outside hitter and setter at the tennis court as per her college bio. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the National Player 1999. In 2000, she was recognized as the Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Ross is currently working with Klineman from 2017, but Ross's beach game was well-established long before that. It's true that she's won multiple big tournaments and one partner was a renowned volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until 2013. Kessy and Ross were an impressive force on the world circuit, winning a 2009 world title as a team. The duo won silver at London's Olympic Games. The Misty Maytreanor legendary team along with Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's resignation. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross competed for USC Trojans throughout her college prior to becoming a professional. The time she spent at USC was impressive. In 2000, she was named Pac-10 Freshman as well as NCAA Freshman of the Year, and was also an All-American. The Trojans could also reach the Final Four with her help. The Trojans were devastated by a tragic incident in her sophomore years, yet she went on to be an All-American in her second year. Over her final 2 years of participation in the Trojans program, she guided them to a national title each year. In 2003-2004, Ross was named the best collegiate female volleyball player in America by the Honda Sports Award. Ross was an international relations student at USC. Unfortunately Ross mom Margie was not able to witness Ross's daughter reach the top levels of beach volleyball stardom. As of 2001, when Ross was a sophomore studying at USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. She has kept her parents close to her heart. In addition, Margie remains a source of inspiration to her on the beach and in life.
